Profile


Video and digital art experience includes 17 years as an artist, producer, editor, camera person and production coordinator. Work includes gallery exhibitions, film festivals, independent and broadcast projects. Collaboration with grassroots organizations and larger institutions including the Getty Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Roosevelt Institute, Human Rights Watch International, among others. Organized FSTV’s national research and promotional campaign to increase awareness and viewer base. Recruited and maintained affiliate base for FSTV. Management of staff and interns. Teaching experience includes 15 years in Higher Education. Ability to work within time constraints, positive attitude, hard worker, able to work alone or in groups; experienced in working with public.

Teaching of upper and lower division fine arts computer imaging and motion graphics course in Digital Design a studio based program that focuses on screen based mediums such as motion graphics, web, interactive design, experimental video and experimental animation.

Manage the multimedia computing labs for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Arts and Media including the purchase and maintenance of all computer systems, development and management of budget, hiring and management of department staff. Teaching of graduate and undergraduate level computer imaging and digital video classes.

Oversee all aspects of the station operations including community outreach, affiliate recruitment and negotiations, relationship builder with grassroots and corporate organizations, grant writing, purchase and maintenance of all in house computer based systems and video equipment, development and management of operations budget, management of department staff and interns, coordination of production team, management of in-house dubbing and affiliate shipping.

“Good Grief”
Good Grief is a seven-episode television pilot or mini series. The dramady takes place thirty minutes before closing time in a coffee shop located on a liberal arts/medical campus. Three Latina sisters and their brother own the coffee shop. Their brother is on military tour in Iraq and will be returning home to Denver, CO in the last episode.

“Trinity ”
Trinity combines image metaphors, text and music that relate the apocalyptic nightmare, haunting military power and the twisted memories of the first atomic blast. Archival imagery juxtaposed with original footage shot at the Trinity Site in the White Sands Missile range in southern New Mexico display the fascination with the destructive power of the atomic bomb.

“Love Them and Lead Them”
Project Description: A single channel video, created for Tenderfoot Training- A three and 1 half hour comprehensive natural dog training video. Authored to DVD. Idea was pitched to Animal Planet.

Project Description: A single channel video, which documents the spirit and conflicts, involved with the protests at the 2000 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

“Alterations”
Project Description: A single channel or video/installation piece which addresses the surgical
alteration of women’s bodies and the concept of beauty within our society. This project combines projected video, computer generated images and objects. The video is a montage of image metaphors, surgery footage and related audio. The video dialogue consists of interviews from women, children and men concerning body image, diet, plastic surgery, and beauty.

April 1995- June 1995
“Right on Target/Left of Center”
Project Description: A single channel video or installation piece “Right on Target/Left of Center” addresses progressive media, censorship and funding cuts within in the Arts by the conservative right economically silencing alternative media.

June 1993- March 1994:
“Rule of Thumb”
Project Description: An experimental documentary, “Rule of Thumb” combines image metaphors and dialog that relate to the darker side of love revealing aspects of brutality and aggression in our society. Single channel video or installation piece.

October 1993- May 1994:
“Requiem for Stasis: Lifting the Curtain/Lifting the Veil”
Project Description: 15 minute video that explores the relationship of the interior and exterior of the feminine/body via sculptural installation and performance created by Antonette Rosato.

July-August 1993:
“The Bishop’s Cloak”
Project Description: Experimental documentary exploring the impact of the Catholic religion in the Southwest.
Producer: Vidie Lange
Duties: Post-Production Editor, re-cut and edit the final version of “The Bishop’s Cloak” including the addition of text and audio.

“Unreported Statistic”
Project Description: A personal documentary, “Unreported Statistic” reveals my personal experience with domestic violence. Through the use of non-related imagery, dialogue and statistics “Unreported Statistic” displays the harmonious world we seek, juxtaposed with the reality of domestic abuse.

“When Cultures Meet”
Project Description: 20 minute documentation of a dance performance addressing the issue of cultural assimilation and acculturation.

Project Description: Documentation of a Holographic sculptural installation created by Ann MacArthur

“From all Walks of Life”
Project description: 12 Minute documentary for the Colorado Aids Project (CAP) confronting the many faces of aids. The documentary was used to solicit corporate funding for CAP’s annual event the Walk of Life. ( Raised $250,000.00 in corporate funding during 1993.) Producer: Cindy Cornelius
